NPC Institute

The Natural Products Consulting Institute was co-founded by Bob Burke and Rick McKelvey in 2001 as a platform for publishing products and seminar events for manufacturers targeting the natural, organic and specialty products industry.

The Natural Products Consulting Institute collaborated with over 60 leading CEO’s, retailers, distributors, brokers and industry experts to produce the landmark Natural Products Field Manual. In 2003 we launched companion publications: “Staking Out Space on the Supermarket Shelf” and “The Sales Manager’s Handbook“. In 2004 we published a Second Edition to the Field Manual and in 2006 came out with the fully revised, updated and expanded Third Edition of The Natural Products Field Manual. In 2009 we launched our most comprehensive issue ever: The Natural Products Field Manual, Fourth Edition. In April, 2011, we are proud to have completed a completely revised, upated and expanded Fifth Edition of The Natural Products Field Manual and The Sales Manager’s Handbook.

In addition we have run popular seminars and networking events entitled “Becoming a More Effective Sales Manager in the Natural and Specialty Channels” and “Financing your Natural and Specity Products Company“. We have also done tailored in-house programs on effective communication, negotitation, effective sales calls, broker management, trade spending management, budgeting and planning and others. Also. we have created a network of sales and marketing experts covering all specialties and capable of tackling any assignment for those companies in need of ongoing or specialized services.
